REMEMBERING GRETCHEN BROWN...ORIGINAL MEMBER OF BECAUSE I CARE.
On October 10th, 2008 DeVion's grandmother (Edmond's mother) passed away after being ill for some time. Gretchen was one of the original supporters of Because I Care prior to becoming what it is today. She was also an officer of the organization. She will be remembered for her assistance and love for DeVion, and for the assistance that she gave to help us get to where we are today.
Welcome to the Because I Care Foundation. Our primary goal is to educate, and make the public aware of lymphatic and vascular malformations. There are many different variations to these particular conditions, and may never be exactly identical to another. We cover a large range of lymphatic and vascular malformations, including some that may not be included here on the site. If there is any particular condition or story that you'd like to share, please contact us. Our site here is dedicated and inspired by our own hero...De`Vion Brown. De`Vion is our founder's eight year old son who was born with Klippel Trenaunay Syndrome. At his young age, he has not only inspired his parents to give him the greatest that life has to offer, but also to educate others on how traumatic and devastating these conditions can be if you are not educated on the possibilities that are available. So throughout this website you will learn about what conditions are out there and the options that are available to you.
